UNETHICAL PRACTICES DONE IN THE FIELD OF MARKETING

UNETHICAL PRACTICES DONE IN THE                        FIELD OF MARKETING

In the view of  this organization, and many others who have added their voice to this discussion, unethical addiction treatment marketing practices are those that may diminish the ability of people in need of treatment , their families , professional or others to effectively identify and be directed to the care best suited  to their needs , or in any way leads to the mischaracterization, misrepresentation , or misdirection of addiction related issues , treatments , practices or organizations .

UNETHICAL ISSUES:-
  • EXPLOITING:-
Emotions or a news event . Such instances pop up every once in a while , then make a quick exit when consumers complain about feeling manipulated .
  • SPAMMING:-
Sending unsolicited emails to potential customers its again Unethical. The FTC allows a business one such opportunity . In effect since 1993, the act also prohibits false header information and deceptive subject lines.
  • MAKING:-
Making wrong comparisons about rival product is again a type of Unethical issues .Consumers may find such a technique helpful as  long as the information is accurate and truthful .
  • STEREOTYPING :-
Stereotyping women as sex symbols merely to draw attention to a product .''While it might be intuitive to use models in adverts for beauty products and cosmetics , having half- naked models in adverts for generators , heavy machinery , smartphones and other products not strongly related to women in both nonsensical and Unethical.''
  • PLAGIARISING:-
Plagiarising is a type of Unethical practice in today's business world to compete with one another rivals it has become the most common activity . for ex - for small business owner, discovering that a competitor has copied or impinged on a tagline, blog post or promotion can be really painful. Plagiarism probably happens more often than most business people will ever know, because of internet.

RECOMMENDATIONS:-

  •  FORCING CUSTOMERS INTO MAKING A               PURCHASE:-
There are several ways to convince people to buy the product . This may be done honestly , or occasionally in a forceful manner. So avoidance is needed in this also.
  • ACCURACY IN TEXT OR ADVERTISING:-
Sometimes goods on market are not worth buying Online marketing often uses photograph and writing techniques to mislead.
Unfortunately, often if the prices are too cheap , there is an almost certain compromise on quality .Hence, it is important to make sure the one should not just solely on making sales, but providing the best product or service one can as well.
  • UNDER DELIVERING AND OVER CHARGING :-
These practices would never endear a company to its customers , nor help in attracting new ones .When the one don't deliver the full order or charge exorbitant prices , one is very likely to turn off customers. Many marketers adopt the Unethical practice of promising the customers a lot of things within a package . However ,once the customer makes the purchase , they are told that the extra items are out of stock. This is highly disappointing event and could lead to lot of anger and frustation.Honesty for one's company is one of the most important practices .
Hence, it is important to educate yourself about Unethical marketing practices . This is because you may be indulging in these activities without realizing . If customers and social media catch on to this, it may break your hold to the market . It's much better choice to stay above board while dealing with your market . You may not earn so much in the beginning , but your customer's  trust is priceless in the long run.

UNETHICAL  RECRUITING  PRACTICES              THAT WILL SINK ONE'S CAREER

As we all know that Recruiting itself  is a unique proffession , for a lots of reasons .
1. Bringing people together
2. Making real difference
3.No two days are the same
4.Work with range of people etc...

Unethical recruitment and selection practices is said to be unethical when it ignores the laid down policies , procedures and results in hiring that based on hiring that based on unfairness , biasness or discrimination especially if person hired does not fit the job or the culture of the organization.

UNETHICAL ISSUES :-

  •  DISCRIMINATION:-

Discrimination is one of the oldest unfair practices going on all over the world in both formal and informal working  Discriminatory  practices in organisations covers unequal treatment between individuals and groups and between men and women . The preferential or unequal treatment can be based on gender , race , colour, payment, religion, national origin and region within the nation.

  • DISABILITY:-
Disabled persons are employed in India in public sectors and government offices due to the rules and reservations applicable to them .however most of the disabled people are neglected in terms of selection and after employment.some of the disabled persons are quite good in their work . However society treats them in an unfair manner.
  • EMPLOYMENT ISSUES:-
In developing world the employment issues are still to get stabilized satisfactorily . The employment , working conditions , exploitations and unfair practices still continue due to lack of organisation amongst employees.
  • RACE :-
Selecting a particular race of people represents to somehow selecting from their own group .This is more applicable at national and international level of selections .

  • ADVERTISEMENTS:-
Announcing the vacancies and not taking any action further . Not clear about processing dates , written tests / interview dates and selection dates . Accountability is totally lacking.
  • MANPOWER CONSULTANTS :-
By and large manpower consultants do a good job as mostly they are hired by the private organisations. moreover their services are mostly for official posts and there is no statue to follow rules of reservations.

RECOMMENDATIONS:-

  • DON'T NEGLECT TO SHARE NEXT STEPS:-
Job candidates leave the interview with no clue about what happens next i believe the candidate should be aware of expected communication ,whether he/she receives a job offer.
  • BE PREPARED FOR THE INTERVIEW:-
The interviewer must be just prepared for the interview as the potential job candidate . An interviewer who is distracted, under prepared to the interview process sends a clear signal that the candidate has little value to the organization. It is unlikely that the most qualified candidates will accept a job offer.
  • DON'T MAKE PEOPLE WAIT DURING SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS:-
Making people wait when they have scheduled appointment leaves a person feeling devalued and disrespected.keep this in mind and honour your appointment times. This will demonstrate respect and of course time is valuable for all.

1. FAIR TREATMENT
HR staff strive for consistent applications of workplace policies throughout the organization, regardless of employee status or rank . Holding all employees accountable is what employees expect from their company. HR should see the each and every employee equally and treat every  of them all by fair means.

Pay equity might also extend to compensation plans that chief executives are afforded.

Unethical behavior and actions can happen in different ways as follows:
1.Misusing Company Time:This includes knowing that one of your co-workers is conducting personal business on the company time.By personal business means making unnecessary calls during office hours and calling your friends or family.

2.Abusive behavior: too many workplaces are filled with managers and supervisors who use their positions and power to mistreat or disrespect the others.Unfortunately, unless the situation you're in involves race, gender or ethnic origin, there is no legal protection against abusive behavior in the workplace.

3.Lying to employees:The fastest way to lose trust of your employees is to lie to them, yet employers do it all the time. One out of every five employees report to their managers or supervisor has lied to them.
